Red Rock State Park

This is a little gem of a place located just outside of Gallup, New Mexico. Though this time of the year it can get very cold in the morning (November). We had temperatures hovering around 20F ! But if you stay here when there is little wind, it makes for some great hiking up the rocks and is easy for the kids.

Canyon De Chelly

We did the 2.5 mile return walk from the South Rim down to White House Ruins. This is well worth doing if you ever get here.

Monument Valley

We took the 3 hour tour from Gouldings Lodge. At $50 per adult it was well worth it as we went to places that are off limits on the self drive tour. The tour left at 2pm, which was great for afternoon lighting. This time of the year the sun set just as we were ending the tour.
